Shades of Red

Four fashion models in red gowns pose in a classical interior under the text SHADES OF RED, creating a dramatic mood.

Few colours have inspired such enduring fascination as red. Throughout history, it has symbolized power, passion, and prestige. Shades of red have adorned royalty, featured prominently in the traditions of the Catholic Church, inspired great works of art and given us some of the most unforgettable moments in fashion history.

There’s something about red that feels particularly alluring to me this autumn. Diana Vreeland famously spent her life in pursuit of the perfect red, but lately I find myself drawn to just about every shade, from deep crimson and classic cardinal red to brighter tones of poppy red and vermilion. They each stir my soul in different ways.

A little red inspiration, past and present. Some of my favourite moments in art, fashion and history, alongside a selection of the beautiful pieces that have caught my eye this season.
